The Inman Company's president, Shane Inman, places great emphasis on local, national and international involvement in charitable causes. In 2008 The Inman Company was the Presenting sponsor for The Ugly Kitchen contest that awarded a free 35,000 dollar custom kitchen to one lucky winner in Northern Michigan. Also in 2008, The Inman Company was one of three acting judges for the Festival of Tables event benefiting Child & Family Services of Northwestern Michigan. Furthermore, Shane Inman also participates in a panel of certified ASID leaders that critique junior interior design theses at Michigan State University where he is an adjunct professor for the School of Planning, Design and Construction. In 2007, he acted as the lead sponsor and event designer for the nonprofit Traverse Symphony Orchestra Ball. In 2007, he acted as event designer for the highly visible nonprofit Traverse City Film Festival's opening and closing events. In 2003, he was trained by the U.S. government for the Peace Corps to act as a goodwill ambassador to Africa, where he taught automated computer-aided design (AutoCAD) as well as English as a Foreign Language (EFL). In 2002, he acted as a subcontracted creative planner to the Miami City Ballet, Southern Florida's largest nonprofit organization. |
