Local Firm Honored with Top Interior Design and Kitchen Design Awards

Traverse City, MI, August 13, 2009 – The Inman Company, a Traverse City-based residential and commercial interior design firm, recently worked with local construction firm Bay Area Contracting (BAC) to design two 2,500-square-foot homes that were then entered into the 2009 Parade of Homes. The homes showcased gourmet kitchens, spa-inspired master bathrooms, custom fireplaces, and many out-of-the-box details. The designs found favor not only with the public, winning the “People’s Choice Award,” but also with the Home Builders Association of the Grand Traverse Area (HBAGTA).

HBAGTA presented every award in the $750,000 and above category to Bay Area Contracting. Out of those eight awards, the kitchen design award and the interior design award was a result of BAC’s collaboration with The Inman Company. The Inman Company’s president and founder, Shane D. Inman, says, “To win the awards for both the best interior design and the best kitchen design means a great deal to me, because custom kitchen and bath design is what I specialize in, and interior design is my passion.”

Inman is certified by the National Counsel for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ). He also holds a professional membership with both the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and is an adjunct professor of interior design for his alma mater, Michigan State University.
