Shane Inman is the president and principal designer of The Inman Company. This bespoke, full-service design firm specializes in interior/exterior design, emphasizing luxury kitchen and bathroom design within both the residential and commercial markets.

From the initial client-intake meetings to understanding their desires and needs, creating meticulous architectural design drawings and construction documents, selecting materials, and forming budgetary guidelines, we are intricately involved. We actively represent our clients in every trade meeting, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship. Our commitment extends to expert project management, featuring regular site visits to ensure an impeccable result.
 

Post-project completion, The Inman Company goes the extra mile by offering Estate Management services and providing superior after-care for the property. Shane received a BA in interior design from Michigan State University, where he is a past adjunct professor for the School of Planning, Design & Construction. Shane is a certified interior designer by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) and a certified kitchen designer by the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA).

 

As an authoritative voice on everything interior design and how it pertains to the building/renovating industry, Shane has been a contributing author for Michigan Home Resource Guide, Traverse Area Association of Realtors, Record-Eagle, Sheridan Road Magazine, Quintessential New Trier, Chicago Style, New York Examiner, Haute Living, HGTV.com, ASID Icon, and Pottery Barn while being a longstanding columnist for the Chicago Tribune and Houzz.com. His most recent press includes The Huffington Post, Forbes, and the renowned The New York Times. 

 

With a strong emphasis on giving back, Shane was a goodwill ambassador with the U.S. Peace Corps, creative consultant to the Miami City Ballet, event designer for the Traverse Symphony Orchestra Ball, designer-at-large for acclaimed film director Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival, interiors director for the Chicagoland Randolph Street Market, and founder/interior designer for the highly televised “Ugly Kitchen Contest” which gifted a $35,000 kitchen. Shane’s volunteer work includes Michigan’s Third Level Crisis Center, Chicago’s Chicago House, New York’s God’s Love We Deliver, Traverse City’s Munson Medical Center, and The Salvation Army.
